A hunter finds a group of maidens bathing by a lake. When he hides one of their garments, which is an incarnation of a swan, one of them is left behind. The hunter marry the maiden and are blessed with children and live happily ever after, but one day the hunter reveals their secret. The hunter gives his wife the robe, which she wears, transforms into a swan and returns to heaven. The couple's eleven children later became the ancestors of the (Khori) Buryat, the ancestors of eleven clans.
