This folklore contains a few stories on the origin of how Buryat married women's gowns came to look the way they do now. First, the reason why the sleeves are the way they are now. Second, the reason why parts of gowns are cut into unique shapes. There are two stories on the shapes of parts. The one is based on Baljin Xatan, a queen of the Khori Buryat, one of the ethnic groups of Buryat. The other is based on a woman who was not good at sewing.
